A Year of the Snake Release Journey This Holy Fire® Reiki Experience with Sound Healing honors the continued influence of the Year of the Snake, a season of shedding, release, and renewal. Participants are gently guided to focus on an issue or energetic blockage they are ready to let go of, supported by a Holy Fire® Reiki meditation and sound healing to encourage natural, compassionate release. Born and raised in Fort Walton Beach, Florida, I trained under Laura Tyree, an Iyengar lineage teacher of Hatha yoga. I want to support mental wellness among the Tallahassee community, especially the upcoming generation through movement and meditation. A mother of two girls and I am building the studio almost literally from the ground up after the tornado that devasted the studio. I hope to invigorate the space in Railroad Square… but first start with some fresh paint! 🫟

Talik Ali is our Warrior Yoga Instructor & Healing Arts Practitioner, specializing in warrior yoga, combining ancient wisdom with modern healing practices for mental health recovery and spiritual transformation. With roots in Trinidad’s mystical Hindu community, his spiritual journey includes deep exploration of the Upanishads and Tantras, integrating kundalini, Kriya, and Vinyasa yoga practices.

Bringing 2.5 years of yoga instruction and 7.5 years of massage therapy experience (including Thai massage), Talik is also trained in pranic healing and Kemetic qi gong energy work.

Passionate about mental health recovery for warriors, Talik focuses on serving people of color through culturally conscious, inclusive healing environments.

I am overwhelmed with gratitude for your support. I thought up Mind over Mat after teaching kiddos in Tallahassee for a few years. In combination with homeschooling my children this year, I was moved to hold a space where I could create curriculum and services tailored and inclusive of all ages of yogis and yoginis. I am seeing the studies coming out about screen time, I am seeing how effective using screen time is for homeschooling and entertainment. I want to combat it for everyone struggling with their mental health, or at least offer a service to prevent development of something more serious among our youth. You will not find screens here at Tally Mind over Mat. But you will find community connection. Choosing Railroad Square as our local was due to a lot of factors, mostly I find it a special place in Tallahassee where you only see local businesses reign. Railroad Square is walkable and now even more accessible to those who live close to it. Mostly, it represents the drive and resilience of artists and local businesses even through natural disaster. At first I was looking at the space in the courtyard, but was informed the old Califlo yoga studio space was available. I’m honored to renew the sacred space continuing on the tradition of cultivating a local community in Yoga, with a revitalized vision. Grateful for all who has come before, we open the space again September 1st. 🩵 We will see you then. - @australiamoon
